In-Marina Wireless Extender
Beacon’s In-Marina Wireless Extender is as unique as it gets. Designed for use at a participating Beacon Wi-Fi location while your boat is at the marina, it is managed and supported by the Beacon Wi-Fi support staff. It offers boating customers a Dual Radio solution that provides a direct bridge link to the Beacon Wi-Fi Network using blazing 5 Ghz technology and a wireless broadcast to your devices using 802.11AC (2.4Ghz and 5Ghz) with enough signal for in-cabin coverage. Beacon’s In-Marina Wireless Extender works in concert with your Marina Wi-Fi network, not against it…
Beacon’s In-Marina Extender comes to you pre-programmed for use at your marina. When it arrives: 1) mount it where it has relative line of site to a Beacon Wi-Fi access point with a simple hose clamp or zip tie 2) follow the instructions by connecting an Ethernet cable (provided) to small power injector (provided) directly to a power source on your boat 3) send an email to support@beaconwifi.com with your name and marina location 4) Beacon does the rest – we sync up your device with the best 5Ghz bridge signal and your In-Marina Wireless Boat Extender is ready for use. No additional wireless names, passwords, programming – just the perfect extension to the existing Marina Wi-Fi Network.

*Long range boat systems use an entirely different technology and process and are designed for use OUTSIDE of a marina. They connect to the host wireless network as a high-powered client device and rebroadcast as an access point. This technology and process works great as a boat network for in-cabin coverage if you are far from the wireless network. However, while your boat is docked at a marina it contributes to the growing wireless noise issue that plagues so many marinas. Combined with many other boaters at a marina with a high-powered boat system for long range connection – the slow down overall communication.
